What is Luna Scribe?
Luna Scribe is a private voice recorder and AI transcription app for iPhone. It captures nearby conversations, lectures, interviews, and imported audio, then turns them into searchable transcripts, concise notes, and important moments.
Can I use Luna Scribe for meetings and lectures?
Yes. Use Luna Scribe for meetings, design reviews, research interviews, lectures, seminars, study sessions, and voice notes. It records sound reaching your iPhone microphone; iOS does not allow it to directly capture ordinary Phone or FaceTime calls on the same iPhone.
Does Luna Scribe create notes, or only transcripts?
Both. Search the full transcript when you need the exact words, or read a brief that brings forward decisions and action items from work conversations, or key concepts and assignments from lectures. Every item in the brief links back to the transcript moment it came from, so you can check it in one tap.
Is Luna Scribe private?
Recordings are saved on your iPhone first. Accepting the Terms authorizes secure cloud processing for transcription and notes in signed-in recording and import flows; your saved original remains on this iPhone, and playback uses that local file. Cloud job audio, transcript, notes, and job metadata are retained for no longer than 24 hours and deleted within 24 hours; provider processing is subject to each provider's terms and privacy notice. If you do not want cloud processing, do not start or import a scribe for processing. Luna Scribe has no ads or data brokerage and does not train its own models on your recordings or notes.
Which AI companies does Luna Scribe use for notes?
With Pro, Luna Scribe lets you choose OpenAI, xAI, or Anthropic models for notes. Audio transcription is handled separately by xAI Grok; notes providers receive transcript text rather than audio.
Is Luna Scribe free?
Luna Scribe is free to download, with 2 recordings a day (up to 30 minutes each) on the free plan, enough to try real transcription and notes before you decide. Optional Pro subscriptions, pricing, and any trial terms are shown by the App Store for your location before purchase.
Who is Luna Scribe for?
It is made for anyone who needs to stay present and remember what was said: professionals leaving meetings with a clear next step, and students turning lectures and study sessions into notes they can review.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Signing in is optional at every step. You can record, transcribe, and take notes without an account; sign in with Apple only when you want a Pro subscription to follow you across devices.
What languages does Luna Scribe support?
Luna Scribe transcribes 27 languages with automatic detection, and can write your notes in a different language than the one you recorded in.
Can I recover a recording I deleted by accident?
Yes. Deleted scribes move to Recently Deleted and stay recoverable for 30 days before they're permanently removed.
